Why Terminology is Gaining So Much Attention in Berlin

18.12.2007 13:17:03
During LISA Forum Europe in Berlin, October 22-26, terminology was quite a highlight – from the keynote speeches by Karl-Johan Lönnroth, Director General of European Commission Directorate-General for Translation, and Mark Lancaster, CEO of SDL, to a number of presentations, including terminology sharing presented by Signe Rirdance (Tilde, EuroTermBank), and business demands for terminology standards presented by Kara Warburton, IBM. The panel discussion on “Why Terminology is Gaining So Much Attention in Today’s Global Business Community”, presented by Kara Warburton (IBM), Christie Fidura (SDL), Christine Hug (Canadian Government Translation Bureau) and Signe Rirdance (Tilde, EuroTermBank), was rated the best among conference sessions.

The forum was followed by the LISA Terminology Special Interest Group meeting.
